FTWG offers a $500.00 scholarship yearly to an FTWG member in good standing for one year. Tuition must be for a fiber-related study to an accredited institution, development of skills at a fiber-related school, or pre or post conference workshops.

It can also be used for related lab/materials fees, room, board and travel related expenses to the study. If awarded, it must be used within 18 months.

In return, you are required to perform two activities: you must display the skills you acquired at the FTWG Conference after your award.

You may teach a mini session, set up an informative table/display, or pass your knowledge along in another way at Conference. Additionally, you will submit an informative article about the class for the FTWG newsletter.

Susan Boykin received the FTWG Scholarship for 2010 for a study in Twills taught by Robin Spady at John C. Campbell Folk School.

Fonda Haddad is the recipient of the 2011 FTWG Scholarship which she will use to study "Traditional River Cane Basketry" at John C. Campbell Folk School.

Both of them will be showing what they learned as part of the 2012 FTWG Mini Extravaganza.
